In a near-dystopian future, Earth’s atmosphere is collapsing due to mysterious dark energy waves known as the Shadow Vortex. Humanity is forced to live in isolated cities protected by energy domes, while a private corporate entity, NeoHelix, monopolizes what’s left of clean air and resources. Jarek Kross, a former scientist-turned-widower with a haunted past, is reluctantly recruited by Kiera Lang, a young rebellious hacker, to uncover NeoHelix’s role in Earth’s decay. Together, they track down Dr. Samir Khan, a once-legendary physicist who vanished years ago after discovering a way to reverse the vortex. Their journey takes them to Lazarus Station, an abandoned outpost orbiting Earth, where they discover the Shadow Vortex is not a natural phenomenon but an experiment gone wrong—a machine created to control time and energy that NeoHelix secretly exploited for profit. As Jarek confronts his role in the disaster, the team realizes their only chance to fix the vortex involves a dangerous trip into the machine itself, where the lines between reality and illusion blur. Along the way, each character is faced with painful truths about their pasts, and the moral question of whether Earth is even worth saving.
