Someone has taken their love of scary movies one step too far
A masked killer known as Ghostface stalks the small town of Woodsboro, targeting teenagers with an encyclopedic knowledge of horror film rules. Sidney Prescott, a high school student haunted by her mother's mysterious death, becomes the killer's primary obsession as bodies pile up around her. Joined by her best friend Tatum, film geek Randy, and local reporter Gale Weathers, Sidney must survive the night while uncovering the killer's identity and motive. The film deconstructs horror movie tropes while simultaneously playing by them, creating a meta-commentary on the genre itself. As the mystery deepens, Sidney discovers that the killer's vendetta is deeply personal, connected to secrets from her past.
