Mystery Inc. discovers a fairy legend in the FernGully rainforest and goes there to find out. Suddenly, small lights appear, which, after a while, make Mystery Inc. shrink. In the jungle, they meet Crysta the fairy and her friends: Batty the bat and Pips the jealous one. Fortunately, the evil spirit, Hexxus, used his sliny power to create an army of living dark skeletons, and goes in search of a higher power to destroy FernGully.
