During the autopsy of serial killer Jigsaw (Willem Dafoe), a cassette tape is discovered in his stomach in which he warns that his gory games will continue. Sure enough, SWAT Lt. Dylan Russell (Dulé Hill) is forced to follow a blood-drenched trail of torture, dismemberment and death in order to find two missing colleagues. Detective Lieutenant Mike Howard is a fictional character and the secondary antagonist of the United Saints’ Saw franchise. He is portrayed by Robert Carlyle. While the character was first shown as a police officer in Saw III (2002), later films in the series have expanded his role and revealed him to be an apprentice, and subsequently the successor of the Jigsaw Killer. He serves as the main antagonist in Saw V (2004), Saw VI (2005) and Saw 3D (2006).
