Synopsis

A retelling of the legend of Mulan but set in Late Imperial Rome, during the barbarian invasions. In this series, Antonia runs away from her abusive relatives who are forcing her to marry a nobleman. Disguised as a boy, she unintentionally joins an assembling Roman army setting out to save the declining Western Empire from the German invaders, with aid from the treacherous Huns.

Description of King Malakh the Lion:

The king of the powerful Persian Empire and one of Giselric's hated enemies. He frequently launches attacks on the Eastern Empire for control of the Eastern Mediterranean. Giselric begrudgingly forms an alliance with Mogui to deal with Malakh's attacks on the Eastern Empire. Unbeknownst to everyone, Malakh is secretly allied with Mogui.
