They aren't coming, they are here.
In the aftermath of the Terrigenesis disaster, SHIELD struggles to maintain global order. The season focuses on Daisy Johnson, now adapting to her seismic powers as Quake while leading a response team. Standing in their way is the overarching villain of Graviton, a gravity-manipulating villain whose attacks threaten to tear SHIELD's remaining infrastructure apart. Amidst the war, a critical episode shifts focus to the streets of New York, where Hawkeye and Black Widow orchestrate an alliance with Daredevil and Elektra to track down Bullseye, who escaped during the Ultron prison breakout. The pursuit culminates in a warehouse confrontation. Bullseye exploits a defensive lapse, blindsiding Elektra and stabbing her through the chest with her own sai. Witnessing the murder, an unhinged Daredevil unleashes a devastating assault, beating Bullseye within an inch of his life. Just as Clint calls out to restrain Matt, a horrifying anomaly stops them all in their tracks. Elektra's body begins to deconstruct, reverting into a green, pointed-eared alien, a Skrull. Having never encountered the shapeshifters, the street-level heroes are left in complete shock, entirely unable to comprehend the transformation. Matt has a wave of conflicting relief and horror: the woman who just dies was the real Elektra, but her whereabouts remain a mystery-a fact made deeply unsettling by their recent, intense physical intimacy. Recognizing the nature of the security breach, the team transports the body to SHIELD HQ. Confronted by the evidence of a deep-cover global infiltration, Nick Fury dials Tony Stark and Reed Richards, begging for emergency assistance as the season drops a massive cliffhanger.
