The movie is set in a crime-ridden near-future Detroit where a police officer, Alex Murphy, is brutally murdered and then resurrected as a cyborg law enforcer called RoboCop. He fights crime and gradually regains memories of his past, leading him to seek revenge on those who killed him and uncover corruption within the corporation that created him.
