Henry VI has been murdered, and Edward IV is king. He sentences his brother, George of Clarence, to death. Meanwhile, Richard of Gloucester, brother of Edward and George, schemes for the throne, marrying Anne Neville, whose husband he killed. George is executed, and Edward is ill. Edward's wife, Elizabeth Woodville, who dislikes Richard, tries to stop him taking over. Edward dies, and his two sons, heirs to the throne, are murdered on Richard's orders. Richard poisons his wife, Anne. Another claimant, Henry of Richmond, tries to take over, and succeeds, defeating Richard in battle, and marrying Edward's daughter, Elizabeth.
