Fan Casting Sun Boy in Return to the DC Universe

With his mother dying in childbirth, Dirk Morgna was raised by his distant, business-focused father, who owned a nuclear power plant, where Dirk worked in his adolescence. When Dr. Zaxton Regulus caused an accident that killed a coworker, he blamed Dirk and threw him into the generator, which would have killed Dirk if his metagene hadn't triggered and he would gain powers of pyrokinesis, solar generation and more, dubbing himself Sun Boy and joining the Legion of Super-Heroes. Recently, Dirk's powers have gone to new heights since the death of a counterpart of his, and now he is able to turn into a fiery state when fully charged.
