Fan Casting Esper in Return to the DC Universe

Like Saturn Queen, Meta Ulnoor hails from Titan as well, possessing incredible telepathic powers, which would lead her to attempt to join the Legion of Super-Heroes, leading to her rejection, supposedly for having similar powers to Saturn Girl, but rather her own darker inclinations, leading her to join with others to become the Legion of Super-Rejects. Though the Rejects would disband when defeated, many of them, including Esper Girl, then Esper as Meta Ulnoor calls herself, would become part of the Legion of Super-Villains, seeking revenge against the Legion of Super-Heroes.
