Imagined as an animated epic, not live action.

Description of Captain Atom (Capt. Nathaniel "Nate" Adam):

Framed for a crime he didn't commit in his service during Vietnam, Captain Nathaniel Adam was given a choice by then-Colonel Wade Eiling, where he would be involved in the test of a nuclear bomb inside a crashed alien ship. The experiment caused Nate to bond to the alien ship, forming an extra skin made of Dilustel, and connected him to the Quantum Field, even as he was flung into the future. Though initially blackmailed to being a government-sanctioned superhero, Captain Atom has struck out well on his own, serving his country and planet with his energy-based powers.
