Salvatore Moreau's past is shrouded in mystery, although it is known he belonged to the Moreau family, who had maintained an alliance with the noble Beneviento, Heisenberg, and Dimitrescu families for generations. The location where he dwelled, signposted "Moreau's Clinic", indicates either he or a member of his family were physicians prior to his mutation. Nautical tattoos present on his body (a jellyfish tattoo with "Mother" written in the middle on his upper left shoulder, and an anchor on his left forearm), imply Salvatore may have himself once been a sailor or fisherman during his youth.
