The Rocket Red Brigade, developed from stolen Green Lantern Corps technology and Soviet nuclear experiments, is the USSR’s answer to America’s Justice Society of America (JSA). Led by Major Ivan Volkov, the Brigade uncovers a plot involving a rogue Rocket Red, codenamed “Krasny Atom” (Red Atom), who has stolen a prototype suit powered by an unstable nuclear isotope. As NATO and Checkmate exploit the crisis to undermine Soviet metahuman supremacy, Ivan and his team must stop Krasny Atom’s plan to detonate a nuclear pulse that could trigger global war.
