A brilliant but gravely ill boy grows up to be Ultra-Humanite, transpanting his brain into the body of a giant albino gorilla with the help of his equally brilliant and deranged assistant, Satanna. A mysterious teenage superheroine with the power to control earth, rock, and stone, overextends herself rescuing the inhabitants of a Pacific island during a volcanic eruption and is nearly killed by strange lava-people. Power Girl rescues her and takes her to New York, where Power Girl's friend, Dr. Mid-nite offends the rookie by probing too deeply into her secrets. Power Girl and Terra make up during a fight with Silver Banshee and Gorsedd, an ancient Sumerian god accidentally brought back to life. Later, they easily vanquish Satanna and her band of animal-men, and Power Girl decides to mentor the new superheroine. Power Girl dives into her alter ego of Karen Starr, resurrecting her neglected tech company, only to be interrupted by Ultra-Humanite who takes an entire section of Manhattan hostage in exchange for...Power Girl's body? Terra joins forces with her new friend as they battle their most serious foe yet.
