Just two months after the Mighty movie, Ryder has been getting nightmares lately about the PAW Patrol failing, and his pups taken away from him. Aside from that, he was testing on the meteor that landed in 2018 when it lit up again and its rays affected, not the PAW Patrol, but the pups' gear and tech. With these upgrades, they are able to take on anything, with no Mighty Powers needed! Now Ryder puts more faith in these upgrades than himself for protecting his team, which is not like him.
