After the battle with Tabuu, Mewtwo decides to help clean up Tabuu's mess but he needs help. Donkey Kong volunteers. And Link does as well. Not only does he and Zelda still hate each other, he has taught all he could to his replacement, Pit. Two years later, the battle with Tabuu has connected all the universes of Smash into one. Now Mario and Sonic, friends once again, can help those who need it with the aid of their friends in Smash. Until, an ancient, maniacal, shapeshifting being known as The Master Core wants to eradicate this new world, thinking that it's filth created by Tabuu or Master Hand. So he attacks them at their new headquarters, looks like the Avengers Compound, and vows he will return when the world is ready for annihilation. So Mario leads a small group (Sonic, Fox, Samus, Villager, Pit, Ryu, Pikachu, Kirby, Mega Man and Little Mac) to find any more fighters to take Link, Mewtwo and Donkey Kong's place. Samus takes them to a whole world where warriors like Crash Bandicoot, Conker, and more reside. They recruit retired hero Buck Bumble and he proves to be a powerful ally against Master Core's evil. Will Mario and his friends save their world from Master Core's threat? Or is this too much for the famous plumber and his friend hedgehog to handle?
