A biopic about the early solo career of Michael Jackson. In 1978, Michael moved to New York City to star as the Scarecrow in The Wiz. His co-stars were Diana Ross and Nipsey Russell. The soundtrack was produced by Quincy Jones. While living in New York, Michael frequented Studio 54. Here he learned about hip hop and beatboxing. In 1979, Michael broke his nose during a dance routine. He had his first rhinoplasty surgery shortly after. His fifth solo album, Off the Wall, was released on August 10th. This album established him as a solo performer. The film will also focus on Michael's early family issues, such as his brothers' jealousy and his father's anger issues. The film is meant to give the viewer a more realistic vision of Michael's early lifestyle; before the tabloids turned everything into turmoil.
