The eve they executed the Empress, she declared before she hung, "On the day that the jealous moon hides us from the sun, the Old Monarchs will lead you to the youth born from earth and spite." On a small island south of the imperial power, Iramore, lies the war-torn country of Lyon Fortuna with a prophecy to be fulfilled, four children born of earth and spite, and a fateful eclipse on the horizon. A sheltered storyteller, a seaside dreamer, a runaway princess, and an enigmatic criminal. By no means should their stories be so intimately entwined, yet the Monarchs have their ways --- their cruel, sacred, divine ways --- and under the jealous moon's gaze, they are united under one goal: to find the lost princess. Tasked with the near impossible, and carrying the burden of fate and faith, the destined 4 have only their Monarchs and each other to cling to, but through each trial and test dealt unto them, the threads of their seemingly divided stories begin to intersect more and more, and the 4 must choose whether to accept their destined heroism, or reject it.
