Nova 3: Annihilation

In Nova: Annihilation, the fragile peace of the cosmos is shattered when the Annihilation Wave, a terrifying armada from the Negative Zone led by the ruthless insectoid warlord Annihilus, breaches the boundaries of the universe. Sweeping across galaxies with relentless brutality, the wave decimates entire star systems, obliterating the Nova Corps and leaving Richard Rider, known as Nova, as the sole survivor of the intergalactic peacekeeping force. Inheriting the entirety of the Nova Force along with the immense burden of the Worldmind, the collective intelligence of Xandar, Richard is suddenly thrust into the role of the cosmos's last defender. Overwhelmed by vast power and unmatched grief, Nova must quickly transform from an ordinary officer into a formidable commander capable of uniting a fractured galaxy. He gathers an unlikely alliance of cosmic outcasts, former enemies, and legendary warriors, including Drax the Destroyer, Gamora, Peter Quill, Quasar, and the silver harbinger Silver Surfer, all while trying to keep the volatile forces of the universe focused on a single enemy rather than their own ancient grudges. As the Annihilation Wave consumes world after world, pushing the desperate coalition to the outer edges of space, Nova leads a high-stakes, violent counteroffensive in a bid to strike directly at the heart of Annihilus's fleet. Brimming with epic scale, the tragic sacrifice of Quasar, and desperate battles, the story explores the heavy price of leadership, the nature of heroism in the face of total extinction, and the desperate struggle to preserve a spark of life in an encroaching cosmic void. At the end, Star-Lord disappears and everyone assumes he is dead, Nova retires for a while, in the post credit scene we see a young Sam Alexander take his father's Nova helmet.
