The main protagonist of the sequel. A young man of japanese descent who was born in German. A naïve young man who always believe the best of people, but deep down he was bitter. He sought to join the army to prove himself useful after the lifetime of discrimination he suffered because of his half Japanese ancestry. Eventually, he was abducted and turned into a cyborg, codenamed: "Zero". The experiment was a success and Zero is now the leader of the Ghost unit, a batallion composed of cyborgs like him. He was feared by enemy soldiers, who referred to him as "The Grim Reaper of Nibelungen". "Rei" means "Zero" in japanese.
