Previously, Kruger was mortally injured by Proto. Now, after the experiment that gave birth to Zero and the Ghost Unit proved to be successful, a comatosed Kruger was subjected to the experiment. When he awakens, Kruger had been transformed into a cyborg, but with his personality and memories still intact. However, he had gone mad and driven to insanity. All he can think of is getting revenge on Proto for what he did to him. Zero's uncanny resemblance to Proto makes him a primary target of Kruger's vendetta.
