Despite her last name, Willow Spelling is an average teenager who is as obsessed with magic as she is with witch magic. Things change when she discovers a magic key that unlocks a new world in which monster island come to life. After tumbling into Monsters Land, Willow finds out that she has a magical family legacy - Posey Spelling is her long lost mother. Posey is the headmistress of Monster Academy where five monsters families teach the next generation of the teenage monsters how to become heroes. Now Willow is learning to use her magic and live up to her famous surname, along with new friends that include Alison Zombie and Jacob Dracula.
