“Monster” follows the kind-hearted and benevolent Japanese neurosurgeon, Dr. Kenzo Tenma, who resides in Germany and who dedicates his life to helping as many people and saving as many lives as possible. However, he finds his life in utter turmoil and despair when he learns that one of the patients whose life he saved as a child, a young boy named Johan Liebert years earlier, has now grown up to become a monstrous serial killer committing mass murders all across Europe. Upon discovering this painful truth and Johan’s mysterious connection with his twin sister Anna, now known as Nina Fortner, Tenma sets out to put an end to Johan’s killing spree by killing the titular monster.
