I do not understand why there were so many white actresses suggested for this. Moana being Polynesian is an essential aspect of her story, as her entire culture is based around that part of the world. A white actress does not work for Moana.

@sethzarandona They’re probably trying to be slick and going “Lol if a black girl can play Ariel then a white girl can play Moana” and thinking they’re clever. They’re not, because Ariel’s race has nothing to do with the story and Moana’s race does.
