Isabella is an educated, empathetic, and intelligent scientist. She is one of the first characters to show sympathy towards the kidnapped youths. Although involved in the island's experiments, Isabella is not naive and harbors doubts about the morality of her actions. Throughout the series, she falls in love with Asher, which puts her in conflict between her loyalty to the experiments and her personal feelings.
