After the events of The Uncanny X-Men, mutants were starting to go from being feared to being ostricized around the globe. However, the villain Bastion orchestrates a terrorist attack in the newly formed country of Genosha and transforms Erik Lehnsherr's tolerance for humanity to be turned into intolerance and hatred, fueling from his traumatic experience in the Holocaust. Now Erik has donned the mantle of Magneto once again and intends to make humanity finally suffer as he builds up a faction of his own...
