Character Description
Anath Na-Mut, also known as Sphinx, is an Egyptian human mutant who is one of Nova greatest mortal enemies. He used to serve the pharaohs, but after he was exiled from his duty, he found a powerful artifact called the Ka Stone. It bonded with him and granted him incredible power and immortality, though after wandering the Earth for thousands of years he grew tired of his eternal life. The Sphinx eventually located the newly-powered Richard Rider, who he deemed as the only hero powerful enough to end his life. As Nova refused to kill him, Sphinx became one of his most powerful enemies who also harbored a dangerous death wish.
