Description of Ky Markham:

Ky is an Aberration. This means that his father committed an Infraction, an offense so great that it strips the entire family of Citizenship and all the privileges that come with it. Among other penalties, his social status entails exclusion from the Matching pool...so when the Officials tell him of a mistake by which his face appeared on Cassia Reyes' screen, he can't believe it. As he gets to know Cassia better he reveals the tragedies of his past life in the Outer Provinces, including the deaths of his biological parents.
