Eli is a young teenager who finds himself in the same group of Outer Province-decoys as Ky and Vick. When the latter boys take off into the Carving, abandoning the rest of the Aberrations, Ky insists that they bring Eli along--partly out of guilt, partly because he reminds him of Bram Reyes. Eli finds himself mixed up in frantic pursuit, shocking discoveries, and the search for the Rising.
