Synopsis

Seventeen-year-old Cassia Reyes lives an ordinary life in the Society, a picture-perfect civilization where your occupation, your spouse, and even the day of your death are all chosen by the infallible Officials. On the day of her "Matched Banquet," Cassia's joy increases exponentially when Xander Carrow, her childhood friend, is selected as her husband. But when a glitch occurs in the system, entering a second boy into her datafiles, Cassia begins to wonder...is the Society as wise as she has grown up believing? Description of Bram Reyes:

Bram is Cassia's younger brother, a rambunctious and fiercely loyal boy who is as bold as his grandfather, Samuel Reyes. He instinctively covers for his older sister when Officials begin mysteriously inquiring into her personal affairs, determined to protect her to the end. It breaks Cassia's heart when she is forced to leave him in search of Ky, but the two maintain contact for several months with messages.
