The mutant phenomenon is no longer hidden. After the rise of Apocalypse, the death of Charles Xavier, and the activation of the mutant gene worldwide (hinted at subtly in earlier films), mutants are now public, and the world is divided. Fear, politics, and open discrimination rise. Governments create “containment” cities — under the disguise of protection. But a new generation of mutants, led by a resurrected (but mentally fragmented) Cyclops, steps forward.
