Homo superior represents the next step in human evolution. In the pursuit of peace and acceptance the mutant team known as X-men faces all kinds of threats from misguided mutants, to gods, to anti-mutant bigots and even cosmic beings with the dream that one day mutants and humans could live together in peace. In this first adventure we meet Charles Xavier, a mutant who assembles a new team of mutants (X-Men) from all over the world to face the sentient mutant island of Krakoa in order to rescue the original X-men.
