Born on the planet Lar under the Kree Empire, Mar-Vell was drafted into the Kree military as a child, where he was trained in the art of combat. He eventually became a captain in the Star Force, where he was sent to Earth. It was there that he fell in love with humanity and gave his life to defend them from the Kree.
