Wanda Maximoff,[ the Scarlet Witch, is a powerful Romani sorceress with the capacity of conducting chaos magic to shift probabilities and warp reality. Alongside her twin brother, the speedster Quicksilver, she was once believed to have been the mutant child of Magneto. The twins are in truth orphans enhanced by the High Evolutionary at Mount Wundagore, Transia. Grateful for being saved from an angry mob by Magneto, the Scarlet Witch and her brother joined the Brotherhood of Evil Mutants to fight for mutant supremacy.Disagreeing with Magneto's ruthlessness,] the twins ultimately defected to the super-heroic Avengers.
