When the brothers start to drift apart they are both pulled into a situation that ends up with them in The Mushroom Kingdom where they end up accidentally being imprisoned by Bowser. While captured they meet Peach, a clever but kind ruler, before eyes taken to another castle Peach pleads for Mario and Luigi to please rescue her so she can see her family again.
