Synopsis

Based on the original 1994 Mexican Telenovela of the same name, Marimar is a young Anglo-Mexican girl who falls in love with Sergio, a young law student. But their happiness is cut short when her grandparents are murdered by a mysterious arsonist and they are arrested. Once they reunite in the city of Bristol, both take on new identities to avenge themselves against those who ruined their lives, including Sergio's fugitive father and sister, solve a string of murders and uncover a past that not only brings them closer, but leads them on a mission they never imagined: To save their native England.

Description of Dr. Leonidas Beaumont (Uncle Leo):

An old friend of Gustavo Aldama and Inspector Barnaby, Leonidas Beaumont is also the paternal uncle by marriage to Marimar and husband to Gustavo's sister Dr. Hope Aldama-Beaumont. As a medical expert, he uses his knowledge of medicine and forensics to aid Marimar and his ward Sergio in their crusade.
