Lanterns follows new recruit John Stewart and Lantern legend Hal Jordan, two intergalactic cops drawn into a dark, Earth-based mystery as they investigate a murder in the American heartland. William Macon is made to be seen as the black hand but it is secretly his son. Hal Jordan was already parallax and is "Retired". Hal is reluctant to help john. Alan scott is the murder victim.
