What if your everyday Haitian-American family life suddenly became a crash course in voodou spirits, ancestral mischief, and ancient magic, with curfew still at 9 PM? Lakou Lavi ("Courtyard of Life") follows the Jean-Louis family—your typical modern Haitian-American household trying to balance school, work, and TikTok trends—until one fateful day, a curious mishap in their grandmother's attic unlocks a spiritual portal hidden in an old lakou (courtyard shrine). Suddenly, their very normal New Jersey life becomes anything but.
