He divided his empire into 12 kingdoms in his will after his death, and each of his 12 sons became the king of one of them, and the king of each country received a sword, which was then handed down from ruler to ruler. Nénuphar also prophesied that one day all the kingdoms would be united again, the chosen one and the king would be the one who discovered the ancient sword of his great grandfather, that sword ruled by the power of the phoenix. And now...Lupus the king of Taruslia has declared at the meeting of the current kings in Dahosalem, which is the capital of the kingdom of Yugrea, that he does not agree to the peace agreement and Taruslia is withdrawing from the peace treaty. Taruslia gathered an army, attacked the southeast of Briborg, and conquered it after a few days. Word of the battle spread. Tanlivia, Votuxheim and Maltesia are getting ready. Taruslia invaded the north of Tanlivia and won. Draven (Votuxheim) and Esmeray (Maltesia) decide to help Xanth reclaim the north of his kingdom. The battle ended with the defeat of Taruslia. The War of the 12 Kingdoms has begun. Taruslia defeated Votuxheim and gained half of the territory. Draven was killed and replaced by Llŷr. Taruslia allied with Sibeon and conquered Votuxheim, Maltesia. Esmeray was captured and Llŷr fell in battle. Nova, Queen of Zibeon was poisoned by her subjects who feared the consequences of her behavior and supporting Taruslia. She was replaced by Nefeli. Abreparis Kingdom (Strongest one) helps Asterin (Briborg), Tanlivia in War agains Taruslia. Meanwhile, Amaris Allerick is trying to get to the city of Phoenix, where he will join the army as the best trained fighter. Along the way, he rescued Alora and her sister Serephina from Taruslia soldiers. Amaris saved Torryn, King of Abreparis, in the war with Taruslia. This clash was to fend off a Taruslia attack on Tanlivia, Xanth's brother Éinrí fell in this battle, or so it seemed, but he recorded his death and then allied himself with Lupus, who placed him on the throne of Briborg, which they conquered together in the next battle, Asterin, the previous king of Briborg was killed. Abraxas, King of Ecrium was overthrown by General Gennady and exiled, his two advisors Ruben and Bhaltair were imprisoned and Ruben was then killed. Tybalt, son and onlychild of Esmeray, the captured king of Maltesia, survived and arrived to Asteropolis (capital city of Briborg) and when he saw Éinrí, the traitor of all kingdoms which fight against Taruslia, he gripped the hilt of his sword, then drew it, was attacked by the guards but neutralized them, and then challenged Éinrí to a duel. Éinrí drew his sword and began to fight. Éinrí fought dishonorably because he used his general Kiernan to trip Tybalt's legs. When that happened, Éinrí stabbed Tybalt in the back of the thigh, and Tybalt got up and managed to kill Kiernan, but he didn't kill Éinrí and lost the fight.
