Story Plot

"Kindred Spirits" is a heartwarming coming-of-age film that follows the journey of Matthew, a High School Senior with a creative taste for the vintage aesthetic. He has long-time friend Alan Lance to be with, in addition to goth girl Alyson Fitzpatrick, whose father is the principal of their school. Despite his creativity, he is hesitant to try to do something more "Modern". When his school is planning a big Halloween Bash, it would seem fate gives him a chance. While trying to come up with a video, he discovers an old, abandoned, soon-to-be-demolished school named Oakhaven Prep. Turns out the school is haunted by the ghosts of dead teenage students and adult staff. Among the ghosts, he and his friends meet Sophia, a 1980s prep student struggling with perfectionism and unfinished business from her suicide in 1988, which causes her powers to go haywire form time to time. As Matthew and Alyson help her find closure, they face two new challenges: the Grim Reaper gives Oakhaven's ghosts until the end of demolition to find a school to haunt or stay at their graves with the threat of being collected if caught outside of their cemeteries.
