Seven years have passed by since Cal Kestis took on Kata Akuna as his Jedi Apprentice. The Stinger Mantis crew have found a place to hide from the Empire, but their efforts have been vanquished through the arrival of three Imperial fleets in their system. However, when Cal expects Inquisitors, he instead meets Galen Marek, the secret Sith Apprentice of Darth Vader himself that adopts the codename "Starkiller" and acts as a false Inquisitor.
