Seven years have passed by since Cal Kestis took on Kata Akuna as his Jedi Apprentice. The Stinger Mantis crew have found a place to hide from the Empire, but their efforts have been vanquished through the arrival of three Imperial fleets in their system. However, when Cal expects Inquisitors, he instead meets Galen Marek, the secret Sith Apprentice of Darth Vader himself that adopts the codename "Starkiller" and acts as a false Inquisitor. Description of Older Cal Kestis (Leader of the Knights of Ren):

After losing his entire crew, including his love interest Merrin, Cal Kestis finally falls to the Dark Side of the Force and becomes the leader of a band of armored marauders known as the Knights of Ren, leading many brutal uprisings against the Empire, and even raiding Fortress Vader once more. However, years after the fall of the Empire at the battle of Endor, Cal, now known as "Ren", will take on Ben Solo, the grandson of Darth Vader, as one of the Knights after he destroyed Luke Skywalker's new generation of Jedi.
