  • samkresil But WB has a way with changing these things when it comes to casting roles in the DCEU. Take Will Smith as Deadshot, Ewan McGreggor as Black Mask and Zoe Kravitz as Catwoman for example.

    • theoriginalmartian @samkresil That doesn't mean anything. WB's management of DC has been complete garbage. They've lost all credibility (especially after how they just treated all of their filmmakers.

    • samkresil @martianmanhunter02 Yeah, kind of like what they've done with the original Batman films because they had to replace Tim Burton with Joel Schumacher because they hated the direction Batman Returns went because it was "too dark", therefore having to change the tone, resulting in Michael Keaton disembarking from his role of Batman.

    • theoriginalmartian @samkresil Exactly. That and what they just did with putting all their new releases on HBO Max. A lot of directors were mad about that and there's probably irreperable damage between them and the studio.

  • theoriginalmartian Jason Blood and Etrigan are completely different people and should be cast as such.

    • theoriginalmartian @samkresil They're different. Etrigan is a demon that preexisted Jason Blood by many years. Jason Blood was a citizen of Camelot. They were bonded to each other when Camelot fell and thus occupy the same space. However, they have always been two distinct characters (which has created interesting moments such as the love triangle between Jason, Etrigan, and Madame Xanadu in Demon Knights)

  • samkresil Well, there was a fan-art picture of Chiwtel Ejiofor as Jason Blood so that was why I was going to stick with it, anyway. And though, I'm usually against white roles beng given to black actors in SOME media, I thought I'd do it here for a lesser known chracter since the MCU kind of hasa knack for it and it works half the time.
