Low and behold, back in the 1990's following the success of DOOM and DOOM II, Ivan Reitman, creator of Ghostbusters, was originally attached to direct a movie adaptation of the DOOM series with all the demons from the game brought to life through visual effects, and Arnold Schwarzenegger playing the role of Doomguy. The film was cancelled due to real-life tragic events in Columbine High School.
