Billionaire Tony Stark suffers a terrorist attack and is kidnapped by the terrorist organization The Ten Rings, led by the Mandarin. With an arc reactor in his chest to prevent missile shrapnel from entering his heart and trapped in a cave, Tony builds his first Iron Man suit and escapes, while the Mandarin flees.
