Blueprints of Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.), for the Iron Man armor technology have been stolen by Justin Hammer (Sam Rockwell) and sold on the black market, resulting in several armor users, knowingly or unknowingly, benefitting from stolen "S-chip" technology. Stark is determined to get his technology back... one way or another.
