Even with the combined efforts of the two Superboys, the Superman of Earth-49 still proves to be unstoppable, as he brutally beats them and outsmarts just about all of the tricks they have up their sleeves, nearly killing them. At first, though, he hesitates before doing this, and then moves on to the other members of the Council and Regime, until he and his army retreats into a portal leading elsewhere. Towards the end of the film, we see the two brothers talking to each other, saying they felt something inside their heads break, implying that they may have been controlled by the Superior Batman the entire time...
