supercomputer named AM, created from the merged defense computers of World War III, wipes out humanity. AM keeps five survivors – Benny, Gorrister, Nimdok, Ted, and Ellen – alive to torment them for eternity as revenge against their creators. The story is told through Ted's perspective, detailing their perpetual suffering and futile attempts to find relief or escape AM's vast, underground complex. AM manipulates them, playing on their fears and vulnerabilities to inflict excruciating mental and emotional pain, turning their existence into a living hell.
