Carrietta N. White is the title character and protagonist of American author Stephen King's first published 1974 horror novel, Carrie. In every adaptation and portrayal of Carrie, she is portrayed as a high school outcast, bullied and abused by students and even her own mother Margaret, an unstable religious fanatic. She also has telekinetic powers that confuse and frighten her, and fuel Margaret's conviction that her daughter is possessed by the Devil.
