  • fredericarrowsmith Not quantity,Quality my bredrin
  • fredericarrowsmith Nah they are too soft plus Di Caprio is too famous and if it was Di Caprio I'd put him opposite Oscar Isaac
  • fredericarrowsmith De Niro & Pacino were short not soft and had that legitimate street man edge that Di Caprio and Norton can never portray even though they are good actors
    • oscarpacino @fredericarrowsmith What? Since when does short even come in? I mean that you could've done more than Grillo and Bernthal. You should've used someone that has lots of range and toughness (ex. Bale as Hanna and Joaquin Phoenix as Neil)
  • fredericarrowsmith Bale hasn't got that edge and joaquin phoenix has zero toughness (both great actors that maybe sees tv as being beneath them) Plus I thought you were saying De Niro and Pacino were soft that's why I mentioned the short thing.
    • oscarpacino @fredericarrowsmith Never even said they were soft. Plus if you were gonna hire someone that has TV experience atleast get someone like Oscar Isaac for VIncent Hanna and Pedro Pascal for McCauley
  • fredericarrowsmith Isaac and Pascal a bit too pretty boy soft compared to Grillo and Bernthal who look weathered , like they've been through some s**t
  • fredericarrowsmith Phoenix can look h=homeless rough but it's also about the voice . Oscar Isac is the closest thing to a young Pacino but his voice is too weak but he has that similar intensity . I did see Triple Frontier and Oscar Isaac was the most miscast in that plus I didn;t realise how frail and small he looked (Like a young Pacino)
  • fredericarrowsmith Yes but It wasn't a young Pacino in Heat , Isaac needs to get to smoking them 80 packs of cigarettes a day to get that roughness . If it was a movie remake of Heat like the original Isaac could do a good job in either role but I was going for something a little different in the TV version. (Heat is my all-time favourite film)
    • oscarpacino @fredericarrowsmith Alright I understand, but considering his upcoming role of Solid Snake (which requires range and a deep voice tone) I think Isaac can make his voice deeper basically
  • oscarpacino So Bernthal and Grillo is all you could think of? Just asking
  • fredericarrowsmith (To me) these 2 were the most evenly matched that could conceivably do a tv series otherwise I thought of McConaughey opposite Fassbender or even Idris Elba opposite Chiwetel Ejiofor....
  • fredericarrowsmith All of the actors you have mentioned are all better 'actors' than both Grillo and Bernthal but for the version of Heat I was going for these two fit the part (The role-reversal you did with Grillo and Bernthal also was a better fit) . Being English myself , Bale does not come off tough at all but I do think he's one of the best actors working today.
